There’s something to be said for praying outside. The ambiance and atmosphere are perfect for talking to God because you feel like you are in His living room. All the beauty of the stars, moon, sun, cloud formations, trees, birds singing – all this has been created by God who loves us very much. He has put His glory on display so we will believe in Him and love Him as our Father in heaven. The Psalmist wrote, “The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands” (Psalm 19:1). Creation does speak, and it says, “God is great, God is powerful, and God is present with you right where you are!”
One of my favorite places to pray is in God’s living room. I’ve been doing it since I was born (spiritually). There are some great advantages I see His splendor, I never doze off or daydream like I do when I kneel and close my eyes, and the best part is that He is always rearranging the furniture so that I never get bored. Whether it is sunshine or clouds, windy or calm, night or day – God’s living room is just a good place to pray! Try it – you’ll like it.
P.S. “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse” (Romans 1:20).
