Welcome. We love visitors and look forward to having you join us and getting to know you. When you enter the building, our greeters will help you find your way to a class or help you find a seat for worship. You won’t be singled out, but you’ll be welcomed and encouraged from the beginning to the end of your time with us.
COMFORTABLE ENVIRONMENT: You don’t have to dress up to fit in. Visit just once and you’ll see how we keep things casual, and focus on character over image. We hope that each week you will come as you are and leave a little better.
FRIENDLY PEOPLE: Some people might think that church is an unfriendly place, especially the first time you visit. But that’s not true at Walnut Hill! From the moment you walk in, you will connect with warm, friendly people who are genuinely interested in getting to know you.
PARTICIPATORY WORSHIP
Singing – We love the beauty and joy of worshiping God from our hearts with our voices. We believe you will find the singing meaningful and uplifting, with everyone being invited to participate.
Lord’s Supper – Because the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus are central to the gospel message, we emphasize the Lord’s Supper (Communion) as the core of our worship experience. Communion is a special time to remember what happened at the cross, what it means, and how Jesus impacts our lives as believers (Luke 22:19). We invite all people of faith to share the bread and wine (unfermented grape juice) during this time. Visiting guests can participate to whatever degree they are comfortable.
Prayer – We believe God inhabits our praises and hears our petitions (Psalm 22:3). Therefore we offer up prayers to our Lord throughout the service.
Sermon – We believe God reveals Himself in scripture. Each week you will hear a message that is true to God’s word and applicable to your daily life. Our goal is to communicate the words of the eternal, powerful God in a new and life-changing way.
OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOU ENTIRE FAMILY: Starting with our Children’s Ministry and continuing on to our Youth Ministry, your children will be given the support they need to grow, and have a great time doing it! Our goal is to provide your children, whatever age, the tools necessary to live a fulfilling and exciting life following Jesus.
