There’s a story that to me
Is too awesome to believe
How the lamb of God was led to Calvary
How He suffered there and died
With a thief on either side
While the world stood mocking by on Calvary.
Why would He to such agree
All from sin to set us free
And to walk up Calvary? Please tell me why.
Were we worth so much to Him
That He’d carry all our sin
While they drove the nails in Him on Calvary?
Why would any precious Lamb
Choose upon a cross to stand
Yielding to the world’s demand? 0′ tell me why.
With what kind of love and pow’r
Did He face that final hour
As He from the cross did tow’r o’er Calvary?
Tell me why 0′ tell me why
Did a Lamb have to die?
Tell me why did He go to Calvary?
For a wondrous, wondrous plan
To redeem poor, helpless man
That is why my Jesus went to Calvary.

Surely our griefs He Himself bore,
And our sorrows He carried;
Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten of God, and afflicted.
Isaiah 53:4
