This year Easter Sunday falls on March 27. It is always a good day at Walnut Hill because we have the egg hunt for the children and a fellowship meal to follow. What makes it extra special is that Easter Sunday is our annual Family and Friends’ Day. It is a time for us to invite people we love to be our special guest. We all have friends and family who only attend Sunday church services a couple of times a year – and Easter is one of those times. Be sure to take some flyers and ask the Lord to use you to reach out to your friends and family over the next couple of weeks.
The next Sunday, April 3, we have a very special guest preacher, Les Ferguson, Jr. Les will share the word of God and his life story with us. Understandably, Les struggles from the 2011 double murder of his wife and son. He left ministry for a while but has miraculously come back to preaching and somehow is allowing the Lord to use him to bring hope to others! We all need to hear his message, and we all have family and friends who need to be here that day as well. Les sent me a message to pass on to you:
Hey Walnut Hill family! Life can be so very hard, painful, and disappointing. Life can challenge our faith like nothing else can. But I have some good news to share. You’ve heard it before and maybe even believed it then. But if you are like me, when life is tough, when pain is overwhelming, and when our brokenness is all consuming, we need a fresh reminder. Are you ready for this? Here’s good news: There’s hope: Whatever you are facing, Jesus is bigger! I can’t wait to meet you!
Why not invite people two weeks in a row? It might become a habit for them as they meet some of the most down to earth, loving Christian people in town.
