So what’s your story? Where have you been? What’s your life all about? Well, I grew up living in sin. It was ugly with a lot of bad attitudes, words, and actions. In spite of that I thought I was a pretty good person as I lived with one foot in the world and one foot in Christianity. That is, until I hit the bottom of the barrel. Then, there was only one way to look, and that was up. I met Jesus and turned my life over to Him and began following Him. From that moment on my entire life starting changing into something beautiful. His mercy and grace made me a different person – the one I was supposed to be all along. He changed me from a person of bitterness, resentment, anger, hatred, lust, greed, selfishness, etc. into a person of mercy, compassion, love, self-control and a love to live for Him. The Holy Spirit helps me every day to keep changing and growing to become more like Jesus. I have a long way to go but I am on the right path as I walk in the light. It would not have happened if I had just become religious – I had already tried that and failed. I had to experience Jesus and His loving grace in my own life. Now everything revolves around my Savior and Lord. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it – all the way till the end. Read Titus 2:11-3:8. Titus 2:11-3:8
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously, and in a godly manner in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, eager for good deeds.
These things speak and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. No one is to disregard you.
Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed, to slander no one, not to be contentious, to be gentle, showing every consideration for all people. For we too were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we did in righteousness, but in accordance with His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He richly poured out upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. This statement is trustworthy; and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently, so that those who have believed God will be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and beneficial for people.
