Love One Another

One of the most beautiful a cappella songs with four-part harmony is Love One Another. This song hits the nail on the head to prepare us to read the linked article below by Carey Nieuwhof. It speaks of being considerate, loving and kind in the age of social media. While speaking with a brother recently we discussed the need for every member to be sensitive how we come across to others – again, especially on social media where it seems to be easier to speak “more freely” in detached documents versus speaking to someone in person. We agreed wholeheartedly that churches that are all one race can speak more freely to one another, usually (but not always) without offending others. However, in a multiracial church family like ours we need to make sure all our communication (speaking, social media, etc.) is sensitive to how it might be perceived by ALL brothers and sisters. We need to keep our conversation revolving and flowing around JESUS – which it should be anyway. Seek to understand, strive to be sensitive, and grant one another mercy and patience when the wrong words are communicated with the right kind of heart. We are family. We are a special family. I am so greatly honored to be part of a multiracial and multicultural church – I don’t deserve it but I thank God for it and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
