Light Up the Sky

Recently I was out running as the clouds cleared out and the skies cleared up. And there it was: the Big Dipper pointing at the North Star. It was a God moment to see God’s majesty appear as the clouds gave way to His marvelous stars. The cool thing is that I was listening to Pandora and the very song playing was  Light Up the Sky by Sanctus Real. The lyrics ask for God to light up the sky so we can know God is with us. It made me realize that I don’t need God to light up the sky any more than He already has; in fact, He lights up the sky every day. People demand signs from God to know whether or not He really exists and He shows us every day through His creation. The world around us (flowers, sun, moon, stars, birds, dogs(especially birddogs :)), maybe even cats(?) – all tell us of the glory of God. Want God to light up the sky for you so you can know He exists and is with you? Look up! Look around! Jesus lights up the sky and the entire world every day for us to make a decision based on the evidence of the created world around us. Read Psalm 19:1-6 and Romans 1:20 and know God is with you – Then listen to Light Up the Sky by The Afters.

And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.
Day to day pours forth speech,
And night to night reveals knowledge.
There is no speech, nor are there words;
Their voice is not heard.
Their line has gone out through all the earth,
And their utterances to the end of the world.
In them He has placed a tent for the sun,
Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber;
It rejoices as a strong man to run his course.
Its rising is from one end of the heavens,
And its circuit to the other end of them;
And there is nothing hidden from its heat.

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
