I did a little cut and paste on some sayings about Christian giving for the work of the Lord. Read them slowly and meditate upon them – they step on our toes in a good way and challenge us.

And of course, one of the greatest statements in the Bible concerning Christian giving comes from the apostle Paul when he addresses the Corinthians on the subject, “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich” (II Cor.8:9).
In the weeks ahead you will hear more about the 2017 budget for this church as we seek to continue to do so many good works of spreading the gospel and blessing those with physical needs as well. Please pray, pray, pray for God to touch your heart so that your giving matches that of our Lord Jesus Christ. This coming year will be a challenge and everyone (young/old, new Christian/old Christian) must let God know their devotion to Him in how they sacrificially give to the Lord’s work.
