Welcome!  We're glad you found our website and encourage you to visit us for worship services and to hear what the Bible has to say to us today. You'll meet friendly people who love the Lord and love others.

There is a handful of God’s children who instantly think of His grace, mercy, and love when they wake up in the morning, and when their head hits the pillow at night, and all that time in between during the day. On the other hand, there are truckloads of the rest of us who need our heavenly Father to speak to us every day through His word, through mature Christians, through Christian music, and through His providential care to remind us and reinforce the truth that He is forgiving us every minute of every day as we walk in the light. We are certainly not deserving of His forgiveness but that’s just the kind of God He is and that’s why it is called AMAZING GRACE.

One scholar appropriately calls I John the book of Blessed Assurance. The apostle John writes some of the most reassuring words to the children of God in I John 1:7,9, “but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin…If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”. God knows very well that we are going to sin today – and tomorrow; however, God loves us. He knows we hate sin and want to live for Jesus with all of our heart. He knows we make every effort to please Jesus daily and love to be close to Him. That’s called “walking in the light”. Jesus, our High Priest, knows we are weak in this human body and we will sin BUT we are forgiven and we are still beautiful to God.

What’s wrong with us that we think God is always looking for a reason to smite us when He’s actually always looking for a reason to bless us as His beautiful children? How about instead of beating ourselves up and living in depressed guilt and shame we start listening to God’s word and rejoice that we are beautiful in God’s sight? How about we treat ourselves the way we would patiently and encouragingly treat another Christian who has a good heart on the inside that doesn’t look so good on the outside sometimes? How about we remember that we are beautiful to God?

Hebrews 4:14-16

Jesus the Great High Priest

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

1 John 1:5-2:2

Light and Darkness, Sin and Forgiveness

This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.

My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

1 John 5:10-13

Whoever believes in the Son of God accepts this testimony. Whoever does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because they have not believed the testimony God has given about his Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

Concluding Affirmations

I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
