Good morning – Lots of mistakes can happen at 4:40 in the morning – Like sending out a devotional Monday morning with Tuesday morning’s title on it 🙂 – So TODAY is the correct title for the devotional – Have a beautiful day close to Jesus
*Romans 8:26 – In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groaning’s too deep for words
*I Thessalonians 5:17 – Pray without ceasing
*James 4:2 – …you do not have because you do not ask
*Ephesians 3:14-15 – For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name
*Luke 18:1 – Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart
*Philippians 4:6 – Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God
The most important communication in the world is children of God talking to their heavenly Father. Prayer is an effective, powerful, necessary, and valuable aspect of our faith. For some strange reason prayer is often neglected. Many times we plod along trying to deal with matters on our own that are “way above our pay grade”. God is with us every step of the way. God has the power and wisdom to work in our lives wayyyy better than we can do on our own. We need to pray – pray – pray.
Read Matthew 7:7-11 and Luke 11:1-13. Then listen to ASK by Love & The Outcome. After that, talk to God off and on all day long for the rest of your time on earth.
Matthew 7:7-11
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or what person is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf of bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? So if you, despite being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
Luke 11:1-13
It happened that while Jesus was praying in a certain place, when He had finished, one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John also taught his disciples.” And He said to them, “When you pray, say:
‘Father, hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Give us each day our daily bread.
And forgive us our sins,
For we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us.
And do not lead us into temptation.’”
And He said to them, “Suppose one of you has a friend, and goes to him at midnight and says to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves, because a friend of mine has come to me from a journey and I have nothing to serve him’; and from inside he answers and says, ‘Do not bother me; the door has already been shut and my children and I are in bed; I cannot get up and give you anything.’ I tell you, even if he will not get up and give him anything just because he is his friend, yet because of his shamelessness he will get up and give him as much as he needs.
“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, it will be opened. Now which one of you fathers will his son ask for a fish, and instead of a fish, he will give him a snake? Or he will even ask for an egg, and his father will give him a scorpion? So if you, despite being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?”
