The greatest physical gift we get from God in this life is family. Mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, kids, spouse, brother, sister – are all gifts from God as we travel through this life. There are many special sayings about family like: There’s no place like home, and Home is where the heart is. I really like this one: Children are a poor man’s riches. Ain’t that the truth! When we become Christians we put Jesus first in our lives above all other relationships and serve Him as Lord. And the first thing Jesus is going to ask us to do is love and honor our family. It’s easy in our culture to get caught up in work, school, etc. and neglect family. We need to ask God to help us keep our priorities straight. Read Exod. 20:12; Josh. 24:15; Proverbs 31:15-17; and especially Psalm 127:3-5. Then listen to Jeremy Camp’s song entitled: Keep Me in the Moment.
PS – I sure hope you pass on any devos that are inspiring to friends and family. Include our website. Maybe God will use you to help someone get to heaven.
Exodus 20:12
Joshua 24:15
Proverbs 31:15-17
she provides food for her family
and portions for her female servants.
She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
Psalm 127:3-5
offspring a reward from him.
Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are children born in one’s youth.
Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them.
They will not be put to shame
when they contend with their opponents in court.
