All of us have had upsetting and troubling times in life when we’ve felt trapped. It might be a job in which we feel ensnared by a very unreasonable employer. It may be a relationship that is very toxic but we are stuck in it. But, when we rise up above the clouds of these painful, earthly issues we see that THE major snare in our lives has been fixed by Jesus. We are free from the condemnation of our sins. We are free from guilt. We are free from death because we will live on in glory. We are free from the power of the devil to control us as we submit to Jesus as Lord, and we have the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us. Ahhhhh – Freedom. Paul writes, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 5:23). Thank you Jesus.

John 8:31-36
So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly My disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been enslaved to anyone; how is it that You say, ‘You will become free’?”
Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin. Now the slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. So if the Son sets you free, you really will be free.
