Right Here

I read numerous comments online of people interpreting and applying the lyrics of the song entitled Right Here by Ashes Remain. They shared thoughts about who they thought is speaking in this song, and what message they received personally as they meditated on the lyrics. Most applied it to a loved one in this life who stood by their side and helped them through difficult times.

I took the liberty of applying these lyrics to Jesus speaking to us. They fit perfectly. For example, the chorus goes like this: I’ll be right here now – to hold you when the sky falls down – I will always be the one who took your place – when the rain falls I won’t let go – I’ll be right here. Now, if that doesn’t sound like God helping us in this life I’ll eat my hat! And, we especially see it in Jesus on the cross and all through our life as we journey toward heaven.

The apostle Paul shares his circumstances from prison with the Philippian Christians. In Philippians 1:19-20 he writes, “For I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayers and the provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will not be put to shame in anything, but that with all boldness, Christ will even now, as always, be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death”.

Read Philippians 4:4-7,10-13. Then listen to Right Here by Ashes Remain before going into this day full of confidence that Jesus is with you every step of the way.

Philippians 4:4-7

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all people. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
