Mark 12:28-31 “One of the scribes came and heard them arguing, and recognizing that He had answered them well, asked Him, ‘What commandment is the foremost of all?’ Jesus answered, “The foremost is ‘Hear, O Israel! The Lord your God is one Lord; and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

If you don’t love God with all your heart, but just attend “church” on Sunday, there is no eternal life with Jesus in heaven for you. On the other hand, if you do love God with all your heart and Sunday worship is an expression of that love, then you have eternal life.

If you obey God’s commandments because you think obedience will bring you eternal life, you are rejecting His grace and His life is not in you. On the other hand, if you know you are saved by His loving grace and your obedience to His commands is simply an outpouring of appreciation and allegiance to that grace, then you are being showered with His mercy every day. (Galatians 2:20-21)

If you claim to have fellowship with God and yet live in hidden sin, your walk is not with God, but with the devil. On the other hand, if you strive to be holy, all your sin is forgiven as you walk in the light. (1 John 1:6-7)

To be a Christian means you love God, trust God, and live for God.
