These three words sum up what we need to do to evangelize more for the Lord. Not everyone can teach someone the Bible from Genesis-Revelation, but each of us can extend a simple invitation to people we know to come to Walnut Hill. If each of us makes a commitment to invite friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, etc. we will have more guests and visitors each, week. Some wil! learn of’ God and become His children, It doesn’t take a lot of effort, but it does take commitment. It also takes Christians who care about the lost and desperately want them to be saved.
Some church growth “experts” make growth seem difficult by leaving the impression that without their elaborate programs the church stands little chance of survival. Gimmicks, bells and whistles may get people to come through the doors, but without the caring Christian extending the simple heartfelt invitation, genuine growth is impossible. It takes every one of us being alert and taking advantage of the open doors God places before us each day.
In Colossians 4:3 the apostle Paul writes, “…praying for us as well, that God may open up to us a door for the, word, so that we may. speak forth the mystery of Christ.” Pray daily for God to open doors for you to invite people to Walnut Hill. I ‘also ask that you pray for doors to open for me to share the gospel with others.
As He was going along by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew, the brother of Simon, casting a net in the sea; for they were fishermen. And Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” Immediately they left their nets and followed Him. 1:16-18
