What will help a Christian be more evangelistic? What key ingredient is absolutely necessary for you and me to possess if we are to reach others effectively? The answer is found in Paul’s letter to the Corinthians, “But having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, I believed, therefore I spoke, we also believe, therefore also we speak; knowing that He who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and will present us with you” (1 Corinthians 4:13-1 4).
The secret to evangelism is to know that Jesus saved you from the fires of hell. If you know like Paul knew, then you will speak like Paul spoke.
Perhaps the above secret is a secret to many in the church of Christ. Perhaps too many in the Lord’s church are not convinced Jesus has washed away their sins. Perhaps too many in the church of God are not sure they would go to heaven if they died today.
Let’s say you know the cure for a deadly disease. In fact, someone who also was cured of this disease told you the cure and now you are going live. Many of your friends, relatives, neighbors, fellow workers, etc. are dying from this disease. What do you do? Naturally you pass on the cure so they can live too. In fact, you are so overjoyed with your restored life you cannot help yourself – you must tell those that are dying from the disease the cure so they can live too.
Do you know the secret to evangelism? Have you been saved by the blood of Jesus? So you have the same spirit of faith as Paul? If yes – speak! If not, do something about it. Souls headed for the fires of hell need your help!
