If God created the entire world simply by speaking I wonder if He can create a pure heart in me as I surrender to Jesus as Savior and Lord? If Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead is it possible He could raise me up to a new life of salvation from here to heaven? If the Lord parted the Red Sea does He have the ability to help me part ways with old habits and sins through the power of the Holy Spirit? If God the Father loves sinners and forgives prodigals do you suppose there’s a chance He’ll forgive me when I confess my sins to Him? If God gave the apostle Paul and young Timothy a spirit of power, love and discipline, will He give me the same spirit as well so I don’t have to live in fear of persecution, failure and defeat? Instead of listening to that snake in the grass Satan and living in fear, doubt, depression, guilt, anger, selfishness, resentment, bitterness, negativity, self-pity, complaining, etc. how about, starting today, we trust Jesus and His providential power in our daily lives to the greatest degree ever. How about focusing more on Jesus than all the garbage in our world so we don’t have “garbage in and garbage out” in our every thought? Then we will live close to Jesus with His Holy Spirit helping us have a spirit of joy, peace, confidence, contentment, love, kindness, gentleness, selflessness, etc. If the bible says it then we need to believe it and live it by faith. Read John 15:1-8 and Romans 8:6-17(esp. v.13). Then listen to Change My Life by Ashes Remain.
John 15:1-8
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
Romans 8:6-17
The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.
You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.
Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.
For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
