Happy Easter. Throughout my teenage years and for most of my 20’s I lived full force in the world. I did manage to go to church one time a year on Christmas Eve and I thought I was doing God a favor! Some years I would even go to church on Easter – twice in one year! I thought God must be really impressed with me. What a fool I was. Now I am in my 60’s and I am a fool for Christ (I Corinthians 1:18). For the last 35 years I have given my life to fulltime ministry to help others like me. I share the hope of eternal life in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Sinners like me need to be redeemed big time. In I Timothy 1:15 the apostle Paul said, “…Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost.” That’s good news – God loves to save sinners. And by His mercy and grace He will bring us to eternal glory if we turn our lives over to living for Jesus as we walk by faith. There are still lots of changes that need to be made in my life but I thank God for His Holy Spirit who helps me one day at a time. Read II Timothy 4:6-8. Then listen to Because He Lives by Matt Maher.
2 Timothy 4:6-8
For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
