A Child’s Prayer

If children are the most precious things in the world to moms and dads imagine how God feels about them. Children are innocent. They know they can’t handle the world by themselves; consequently, they are not ashamed to cry out for mommy and daddy to help them in time of need – which is every day. And does that ever make mommy and daddy feel proud to bless their little loved one!

In Mark 10 parents were bringing their little children to Jesus so He would bless them. The dense disciples (kind of like you and me) think Jesus is too busy and too important to waste His valuable time on children. Here is the incident and verbal exchange between Jesus and the disciples: “People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it. And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them”. (Mark 10:13-16).

Here is the good news: WE are the children of the Father. How Jesus treated the children is how He treats us when we humble ourselves before Him. Read Matthew 18:1-4. Then listen to A Child’s Prayer. After that humble yourself before the Father in heaven like a little child. Experience peace and safety in your heart because we have the most wonderful Father in the whole wide world Who takes care of children like you and me.

Matthew 18:1-4

At that time the disciples came to Jesus and said, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” And He called a child to Himself and set him among them, and said, “Truly I say to you, unless you change and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. So whoever will humble himself like this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
