The apostle Paul writes some amazing life-changing statements in his letters as the Holy Spirit breathes through his pen. But none is filled with more theology to address our lives “in Christ” than Galatians 2:20. Paul states that he has been crucified with Christ = he has died to the old life. He’s lost all desire to live selfishly for himself and now absolutely loves to serve the Lord Jesus AND live close to Jesus in the beautiful relationship of eternal life. Paul writes that he is still alive physically BUT it is Christ who lives in him. Life is no longer about Paul – it is about living by faith in Jesus. Paul knew Jesus loved him personally and died for him. We need to know that same thing – Jesus loves you and died for you. That alone provides plenty of motivation to live for Jesus. Here’s something different for you to do today: Instead of reading multiple verses or an entire chapter, I want to encourage you to memorize one verse: Galatians 2:20. Keep it is your heart and repeat it often. Listen to Christ in Me by Jeremy Camp.
Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
