God Is Omnipresent

The Eyer of GodWhen little children are frightened in the middle of the night parents will sometimes comfort them with the words, “Don’t worry, no one is going to hurt you – God is right here, watching over you.”  Those parents are not just fabricating a story so they can get back to much needed rest; rather, they are telling the important truth about God being everywhere all the time.  It is difficult for us as finite humans to conceive of that idea because we are so limited compared to the almighty, eternal God of heaven and earth.

Sometimes, when parents are being pulled in many different directions, you’ll hear them telling their children, “You will have to wait your turn – I can’t be in two places at one time!”  But such is not the case with God. He is everywhere.  He is not restricted by time and space because God is an eternal spirit.  God is with His people everyday, everywhere.

How blessed we are to be in a relationship with such an awesome God.  Not only are we allowed to be in the presence of God in this life, but more importantly, we will be with Him throughout eternity in the glory of heaven.  There we will have unbroken fellowship with God.  No problems, no more tears, no more death (Revelation 21:1- 4)

So, serve God with gladness.  Love Him for always being with you.  Crave the day when the faith will become sight as you stand in the presence of the great omnipresent God.

Psalm 139:1-6
O LORD, You have searched me and known me.  You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar.  You scrutinize my path and my lying down, And are intimately acquainted with all my ways.  Even before there is a word on my tongue, Behold, O LORD, You know it all.  You have enclosed me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me.  Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is too high, I cannot attain to it.
