Welcome!  We're glad you found our website and encourage you to visit us for worship services and to hear what the Bible has to say to us today. You'll meet friendly people who love the Lord and love others.

For the past couple of weeks I have spent much time in Psalm 119. It is the longest Psalm and the longest chapter in the Bible (176 verses) so it takes some time to digest all of it. I still have some verses to study so it may be another week – whew – lots to soak in.

The Psalm is about the preciousness, value, and wisdom of God’s word. Nearly every single verse refers to God’s word with different descriptions like: ordinances, statutes, precepts, etc.

Today I meditated on Psalm 119:133. It says, “Establish my footsteps in Your word, and do not let any iniquity have dominion over me. What a powerful statement and request. The Psalmist is asking God to help Him live a holy life, pleasing to Him. And, he bases it on God’s word. That’s why God’s word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path.

One commentator writes, “I had rather be a prisoner to man all my life than be in bondage to sin one day.” Now that is a wise man. He knows spending time in God’s word is the key to living right before God.

I pray for you. I pray God’s word becomes more and more a part of your life as the days and the years roll on so that God’s word is a lamp to your feet all the way to heaven.
