Here Am I

I am wondering what you think and feel as you listen to the song in today’s devotional. In Acts 8:26-39 the Ethiopian eunuch is searching for God. There is no one to tell him. How will he learn and believe. Then God sends Phillip and preaches Jesus to him. The next thing you know the eunuch asks  to be baptized into Christ. He is bubbling over in joy!

Maybe you remember how you felt when you got it – you know – when you met Jesus in your heart through faith and were born again. We felt lighter and could jump higher because all of our sins were washed away by the blood of the Lamb of God. We felt so underserving but so grateful that God loves us THAT MUCH! All we want to do from that day forward is be close to Jesus, live for Jesus, thank Jesus, and spend eternity with Jesus after we die.

Now think about people who do not have Jesus in their life. What are you going to do? For me, I feel moved in my spirit. I feel driven – I MUST help everyone I possibly can while I have breath in me. I MUST help others come to know Jesus and be saved by Him so they don’t go through this life living an empty existence that is a dead-end road and lose their soul in eternity. That would be a shame. We must help them.

Read Matthew 9:35-38 and listen to Here Am I by MercyMe.

Jesus was going through all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness.

Seeing the crowds, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and downcast, like sheep without a shepherd. Then He *said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore, plead with the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.”
