“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Mark 16:15
Christ was serious when He directed His followers to be soul winners throughout the world, and our Walnut Hill family has been involved in a mission program since the congregation was formed in 1956. We are striving to obey Christ by sending men and women to various parts of our nation and the world with His message.
Presently, we provide support for the following mission works:
The mission in Cambodia is to spread the gospel in a predominantly Buddhist country. To accomplish this, Sokhom and others have established a school to teach Cambodian’s to preach God’s Word. Sokhom is the director at the Cambodia Bible School (CBS) in the capitol city of Phnom Penh. Preachers and teachers from USA and other countries travel to Cambodia and teach bible to the students on short-term mission trips. CBS also uses teleconferencing technology to teach live over the internet. In addition, Sokhom helps oversee a medical clinic located on the school grounds as well as holding regular leadership seminars for approximately forty to eighty house churches along the Cambodian/Viet Nam border.

In 2007, an American church-planting mission team, consisting of three families, including Skylar and Morgan Ely, settled in the culturally diverse western suburbs of the city of Auckland New Zealand. The mission team is building relationships with existing congregations, connecting with the community, and learning the culture. Their goal is to naturally interact with people on a personal level, through conversations in schools, parks, shopping centers, coffee shops, etc., opening their homes for dinner and sharing their lives further with them. They have weekly Bible studies and create opportunities to share Christ through programs such as Parents Night Out and Ice Box.
