Welcome to Jesus Place

Elders

Frank Kuenstler

SONY DSC I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, and, at the age of 17, I joined the U. S. Navy. I served aboard the USS Dennis J. Buckley, a destroyer, in the Pacific. Following my military service, I returned to San Antonio, and, in 1948, two extremely significant events occurred in my life. First and foremost, I became a Christian in June of that year at the Grove Avenue Church of Christ, and, in September, I married my high-school sweetheart, Pat Wyche. We’ve been happily married ever since and have been blessed with four grown children and ten grand-children.

Immediately following our marriage, Pat and I began attending Abilene Christian College (now Abilene Christian University). The following year, we transferred to Southwest Texas State Teachers College (now Texas State University) in San Marcos, Texas where I graduated in 1951.

Pat and I moved to Dallas in 1952 and placed our membership with the Preston Road Church of Christ. Shortly thereafter, we were blessed to be the charter members of the Walnut Hill Church of Christ when the doors opened for the first time on February 5, 1956. In the ensuing years, I’ve served the Walnut Hill congregation to best of my ability… as a member of numerous committees, as a deacon, and as an elder. Pat and I truly love the Walnut Hill family, and we are grateful for the many years of worship and service at this church. We, of course, recommend the Walnut Hill church family to anyone seeking a church home in which to serve the Lord.

Walt Minchew
Walt_Minchew_020625I was born and raised in Breckenridge, Texas. My grandfather and father were both elders at the church where we attended. I was baptized in my early teens. After graduating from Tulane University, I taught mathematics at Abilene Christian University as well as at the University of Texas, while completing my master’s degree.

My wife Billie and I were married in 1953, and we have two grown children… Our daughter, Mary, lives in Lewisville, and our son, Alan, lives in Nashville. We have four grand children; three grand daughters and a grandson.

I worked for SBC in various locations in Texas, Kansas and Missouri before being transferred to Dallas in 1971. We placed our membership at Walnut Hill because we knew it to be a strong congregation, and we had several friends here. I served three congregations as a deacon, including Walnut Hill.

I became an elder of this congregation in 1983. I am pleased to serve a congregation that is devoted to preaching the gospel, both locally and in other locations around the world, and is also devoted to creating an environment in which the members can mature in their service to God.

Brent Willson

Willson, Brent

I was born and raised in Wichita Falls, Texas and was brought up attending Faith Village Church of Christ.  My parents taught me the gospel at a young age and I was baptized by the preaching minister at Faith Village, Paul McClung.  After graduating from SH Rider High School in 1980, I moved to Lubbock to attend Lubbock Christian College and Texas Tech University to study Architecture.

While attending both schools simultaneously, I met my wife to be, Connie Roberts, at LCC and we were married in 1983.  After graduating from Texas Tech in 1985 with a Bachelors in Architecture, we lived in Lubbock until 1986.  Our first child Christa, was born in Lubbock shortly after my graduation.  In June of 1986, our family moved to Wichita Falls where I began work as in intern architect for Wingler and Sharp Architects.  In 1988, our second child, Keith, was born.  Upon moving to Wichita Falls, Connie and I place membership at Faith Village Church of Christ where we were both active in the work of the church.  In 1991 I was asked to serve as Deacon and did so until I was asked to serve as an Elder in 2010.  Our children both attended and graduated from Oklahoma Christian University and they currently live in Oklahoma City. We are very blessed to be grand parents of two beautiful granddaughters.

In 2013, due to a job change, Connie and I moved to the Dallas area where I began work with HKS Architects.  Immediately upon our arrival in Dallas, we diligently began our search for a church home.  We know that God led us to Walnut Hill, to a loving church family where we were immediately welcomed, and a place where we could serve God.  In the spring of 2015, I was honored to be asked to become a Shepherd of this faithful congregation.   At Walnut Hill, we seek to save the lost and mature the saved, all to the glory of God.
